Christmas with Laura Katherine and Seth

After letting the kids enjoy their presents from santa, my sister Melissa, her husband Josh, my nephew Seth and my aunts and uncles came to my house from Tallassee to celebrate Christmas. The kids had a lot of fun getting even more presents and spending time together.

The infamous chapstick

Here are some shots from our house on Christmas morning. LK wasn't sure what to think when she woke up and had all these new toys. Her favorites from santa were her barbie 4- wheeler, new baby and stroller and of course her chap stick. She loves chap stick so I bought her some glittery bubble gun flavored chap stick to have as part of her stocking. Once she saw that she didn't care about anything else. She started licking it and putting it all over her mouth and face. Finally the new chapstick had to "disappear". Anyway, she had a great time and it was so much fun watching her have so much fun.

My First Year in Heaven

A friend of my mother's sent her this poem last week and I wanted to share it with everyone. It brought us comfort since it is our first Christmas without Daddy. If this is your first Christmas without your loved one I hope it brings you the same comfort. Please excuse the grammar in the poem. My Mom read it to me over the phone! Merry Christmas.

I see the countless Christmas trees,
around the world below,
with tiny lights like heaven's stars,
reflecting in the snow.

I hear the many Christmas songs,
that people hold so dear,
but the sounds of music can't compare,
with the Christmas choir up here.

I have no words to tell you,
The joy there voices bring,
for it is beyond description,
to here the angels sing.

I know how much you miss me.
I see the pain inside your heart,
but I'm not so far away,
We really aren't apart.

So be happy for me dear one,
you know I hold you dear,
and be glad I'm spending Christmas,
with Jesus Christ this year.

I send you each a special gift,
from my heavenly home above,
I send you each a memory,
of my undying love.

After all love is a gift,
more precious that pure gold.
It was always most important,
in the stories Jesus told.

Please love and keep each other,
as my Heavenly Father said to do.
For I can't count the blessings or love,
he has for each of you.

So have a Merry Christmas,
and wipe away that tear,
Remember, I am spending Christmas,
with Jesus Christ this year!

Laura Katherine and Seth go to the zoo......

My Mom and I decided to take Lk and my nephew Seth to the zoo last Friday after LK's checkup. We had such a good time. Lk and Seth are best friends and they were so excited to go to the zoo together. They don't get to be together that often so when they are they make the most of it. The zoo was a ghost town so the kids had the run of the place. My Mom and I really enjoyed watching them have so much fun together.

Laura Katherine's 2 year checkup

Well we finally went to LK's 2 year check up this past week. I was really nervous about it because for reasons I wont even go into she has every right to be very afraid of the doctor. I even break into a cold sweat when we go in. Well this time my baby proved her Mama wrong. She was such a good girl. She let Dr. Flowers give her the once over and everything checks out well. She weighs a little over 27 pounds and is almost 3 feet tall.

Laura Katherine's first haircut....

I had to blog LK's first haircut for everybody to see. We had been planning this haircut for sometime. My friend Heather who has been cutting my hair for almost ten years got to do the honors. I was really nervous about the big event. LK takes a while to warm up to strangers and she does not like anyone touching her hair. I will be honest I was prepared for the worst. I was sure there would be some tears. I never dreamed she would get up in the chair by herself and sit like a perfect little lady while Heather cut, primped and styled her hair. I was literally in shock. A mother could not have been more proud!!! She loved the attention and was a perfect angel. Heather was great with her and everything went smooth. I had promised LK that if she was a big girl and got her hair cut then I would take her to Walmart to see some toys. When we got finished the only thing she asked for was a quesadilla and some rice from the Mexican restaurant!! It was pretty funny and of course we went straight to Don Chuchos for Mexican. Anyway, just wanted to share our first haircut.

Christmas cards gone wrong..........

I think the title of this blog says it all... We didn't have a very good day Friday taking pics for our Christmas cards. It's my fault really. I put way too much pressure on my two year old to sit still, smile and look at the camera on demand. What was I thinking? Good thing my friend Nicole who took the pics is patient with LK and me. We had a retake today and the pics are much better but I thought I would post some of the pics from Friday's fiasco. These are some of the few that were not of her having a melt down. Real Christmas card pictures are coming soon.

I would like to invite you all to check out a blog that my friend Robin introduced me to by a friend of hers named Melissa. Melissa, if you see this I hope you don't mind!!!!I have heard many people talk on their blogs about blog stalking and I have to say this is definitely one of the ones that I stalk everyday. Melissa's blog is truly a daily blessing. She truly has a God given talent to write and I have been blessed through reading her blog. She uses it as a ministry and I think that is wonderful.
